God’s “Now” Moment of a Completed Miracle
Written By Anita Carman
Dear Faithful One,
In my book, Making Sense of Your Life-Breakthroughs to Finish the Dream, I wrote the following: When God says “Now,” don’t miss the green light to receive your blessing.
In John 2:8, Jesus told the servants, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” NIV. “Now” pinpoints a specific moment in time. In Wesley’s explanatory notes in Bible Study Tools, he said, “The word now seems to indicate the turning-point when the water became wine.”
After Jesus stated a “Now” moment, and the water had been turned into wine, He instructed the servants in John 2:8 to “draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” Immediately after Jesus stated the “Now” moment, the next step was to invite the servants to “draw” out the wine and enjoy the blessing.
When God says, “Now, rise up!” do you say, “No, not yet!”? When God says, “Now, you are healed!” do you say, “Are you sure?” When God says, “Now, go!” do you say, “I’m not ready yet!”?
There was an exact point in time when the water had completely turned into wine. There was no reason to delay serving the wine, especially when the guests were still present and Mary had already stated in John 2:3 “They have no more wine.” NIV. When the need is clear and present, God is ready to meet it when He says “The transformation is complete. The time to receive the blessing is ‘Now’!” Any further delay in receiving the blessing is a lack of faith. Are you the one delaying God’s blessing?
I pray this devotion encouraged you in a special way. When I pray for you, I hear a victory song. I believe in you because I believe in the power of God’s Word in you as you put His Word into action.
