The Reason People are Jealous of You
Written by Anita Carman
Dear Faithful One,
Have you ever experienced the insane jealousy of those who were threatened by you? How do we continue in our calling in the midst of a hostile environment?
Matt 2:1-3 reads: After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.” When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.” NIV.
Did you see the words that tell us that King Herod was “disturbed” and “all Jerusalem with him.”? Let us be aware then that those who are building a personal kingdom often are surrounded by an entourage who are building with them. Not only was Herod disturbed but “all Jerusalem” was disturbed with him. If you have ever felt like “the gang” has ganged up against you, know that this was a pattern of behavior Jesus experienced as well.
We can’t control if others get jealous of us if God sends us to forward His purpose. All things on earth and in heaven were made for God and by God. Yet for those who have spent years designing their own careers and plans, it is any surprise they would be threatened when God interrupts their plans? If those who are jealous want God’s favor, all they need to do is to get on the same page with God. As for those who are in God’s plans, we should just stay focused and keep going.
I pray this devotion encouraged you in a special way. When I pray for you, I hear a victory song. I believe in you because I believe in the power of God’s Word in you as you put His Word into action.
